christopher-plummer18341Enjoying terrific reviews for his role in this year’s family dramedy BEGINNERS, actor CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER is pretty much a shoe-in for Oscar consideration this season. Probably best known for his co-starring role in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, that’s an association PLUMMER would like to forget. Arguably one of the greatest family films of all time, the big screen adaptation of the Rogers and Hammerstein Broadway musical classic was directed by ROBERT WISE and told the romanticized true story of a young Austrian postulant who takes a job as governess to seven unruly children in the years just prior to World War II. Nominated for ten Academy Awards and the winner of five (including Best Picture), the cast is headed by JULIE ANDREWS and PLUMMER. During an interview with PLUMMER, he told us THE SOUND OF MUSIC is the one film most fans recognize him from…and he’s not happy about it. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
