One of my many New Years resolutions is to finally catch up on Nicolas Cage features that have just passed me by (Drive Angry, Season of the Witch, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Bangkok Dangerous), hoping that one of these flicks will almost reach the levels of 2010’s Kick-Ass.  I’ve also decided to be a glass half full guy, and am hoping the best for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, a reboot of Cage’s disappointing 2007 effort Ghost Rider.

The following trailer looks promising enough, and since it’s directed by Crank filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the action should pack a better punch thank the original.  Ghost Rider should be down, dirty, and for lack of a better word, hellish.  Plus, anyone movie with Idris Elba (Luther and The Wire) has to be halfway good (he definitely elevated The Losers).  As for Cage, I’m betting this “ride” is much better than his recent outing with Nicole Kidman in Tresspass.
