Great news this morning for Young Adult, as its lead actress (Charlize Theron), supporting actor (Patton Oswalt), and screenwriter (Diablo Cody) received Critics Choice nominations (unfortunately, Jason Reitman didn’t receive a Best Director nod).
During the press conference for Young Adult, Charlize Theron explained why she emotionally connects to Reitman’s movies (especially Up in The Air). Patton Oswalt also shares his love for British filmmaker Michael Powell, whose directing credits include the revered films The Red Shoes, Tales of Hoffman, and my personal favorite from his canon, Peeping Tom. Last but not least, Diablo Cody discusses her admiration for filmmaker/writer Paul Thomas Anderson.
