Opening next week in limited release so as to qualify for Academy Award-consideration, W.E. is a two-tiered romantic drama that parallels the story of Wallis Simpson and her involvement with heir to the British throne, Prince Edward, and an American housewife circa 1998 who is obsessed with the story. Co-written and directed by MADONNA, the cast includes ABBIE CORNISH, NATALIE DORMER, KATIE McGRATH, JAMES D’ARCY and JAMES FOX.

This marks MADONNA’S second time behind the cameras and in charge of a big-screen production but, at a recent press conference, she confesses that she doesn’t like to be considered the “boss” on the set.
