Enjoying one of the most successful opening weekends ever, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PT.1 took in an estimated $139.6 m as it continues to tell the epic story of teen angst and supernatural lust that began three films ago. Based the best-selling young adult series of novels by STEPHENIE MEYERS, the big screen adaptations have made superstars of KRISTEN STEWART, ROBERT PATTINSON and TAYLOR LAUTNER. Directed by BILL CONDON, this latest installment is highlighted by a lavish wedding and a disturbing birth, both of which guarantee that fans will be returning for next year’s final episode (which has already been completed). Wrapping up the series is bittersweet for PATTINSON who tells us that he’ll miss working on the films but is looking forward to taking his time with projects outside the franchise.
