Before her standout performance as a rebellious teenager in The Descendants, Shailene Woodley was best known as a cast member on the ABC Family show The Secret Life of the American Teenager.  Woodley is still signed on the the series, but her film career should take a major leap thanks to The Descendants, which opens in select theaters Friday (it’s currently playing in New York and Los Angeles).  I asked Woodley how she was coping with the awards buzz surrounding the film and if she’s faced the idea that her career will profoundly change thanks to The Descendants.
