carn6 Christoph Waltz (Water for Elephants, Inglourious Basterds) dislikes the idea of describing his film roles, and the actor may actually have a point.

When an actor talks ad nauseam about a film’s plotline and gives a breakdown of his character, does that ruin one’s viewing experience?  Should audience members go into each film with just a threadbare idea of the story and meet the respective characters head on, sans a mountain of explication?  Possibly so, and even if quoting Jean-Luc Godard at a press junket may seem a bit pretentious, in the context of Waltz’s argument it really fits.
