Filmmaker Alexander Payne’s (Sideways, About Schmidt) latest effort The Descendants centers on Matt King (George Clooney), a middle aged father who barely knows his daughters (Amara Miller, Shailene Woodley) but must step up to the plate after his wife is involved in a tragic boating accident off Waikiki.
The picture, which opens in New York and Los Angeles November 16th, has garnered heaps of critical praise (Rotten Tomatoes has its critics rating at 92%) and will be remembered come Oscar nominations time (nods will probably go out to Clooney, Woodley, and Payne).
