Arriving on DVD and Blu-ray shelves today, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER is a satisfying period piece detailing the origin of America’s most famous super-soldier. Set in the early 1940s, the story has a scrawny 98-pound weakling undergoing a top-secret military experiment that miraculously changes him from zero to hero. Another big-screen adaptation of a MARVEL COMICS character set to be included in next summer’s much-anticipated epic THE AVENGERS, the film is directed by JOE JOHNSON, based on characters created by comic-book legends JOE SIMON and JACK KIRBY and stars CHRIS EVANS, HUGO WEAVING, STANLEY TUCCI, TOMMY LEE JONES, NATALIE DORMER and DOMINIC COOPER.
During a recent interview, EVANS talked about the long, strange trip leading up to this role he wasn’t actually sure he wanted. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
