Anonymous, opening October 28th, gives us an entirely different take on William Shakespeare (Rafe Spall), as it questions his very own authorship.  The Elizabethan England set drama is a creative departure for filmmaker Roland Emmerich, the king of end of the world spectacles (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and most recently 2012).

In an inspired bit of casting, Mr. Emmerich hired Joely Richardson and her mother, Vanessa Redgrave, to play Queen Elizabeth.

“That was fascinating, really, for Roland to have the courage to do that,” says Richardson.  “Many, many times, my mother has done films where I haven’t even had an audition for the part of playing her daughter or her younger self.  I thought that was really exciting.”
