Currently in theaters, 50/50 is loosely inspired by actual events and tells the story of a young man whose world gets turned upside down when he’s diagnosed with a possibly fatal form of cancer. Forced to face his own mortality, he discovers who his real friends are. Directed by JONATHAN LEVINE from a script by WILL REISER (who is, in fact, the real-life subject of the film), the cast includes JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT, SETH ROGEN, ANNA KENDRICK, BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD and ANJELICA HUSTON.
REISER was first diagnosed with cancer when he and (a then unknown) ROGEN worked together behind the scenes of DA ALI G SHOW. Over the years it took to finish the script and get funding, ROGEN went on to big screen fame but always told REISER he’d stick with the project.
