In the upcoming comedy THE BIG YEAR, three friendly rivals facing separate (but equally disturbing) life crises take a year off to travel the country in an effort to become the world’s greatest bird-watcher. Based on a book by MARK OBMASICK and directed by DAVID FRANKEL, the first-rate cast includes STEVE MARTIN, JACK BLACK, OWEN WILSON, JIM PARSONS, JOEL McHALE, RASHIDA JONES, DIANNE WIEST and ANJELICA HUSTON.
Drawn to the idea that something seemingly as innocuous as bird-watching could be so ruthlessly competitive and relishing the chance to work with STEVE MARTIN, actor JACK BLACK jumped at the chance to be a part of the project. We caught up with him recently and he talked about his attraction to the film. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
THE BIG YEAR opens in theaters 10/14
