Amidst a wash of sitcoms and procedurals comes Terra Nova, easilyn one of this year’s most ambitious programs. Tonight’s installment (Fox, 8 pm et/pt) has Commander Taylor (Avatar’s Stephen Lang) and Jim Shannon (Jason O’Mara) teaming up to battle a group of pterosaurs that threaten their very existence.
“What I really like about this show is that there are real no black hats and white hats,” says O’Mara. There a lot of very gray characters. Characters that embody sort of wildly different settings on the moral compass, and I think that’s true to life you know? We’re all human beings. We’re all flawed. We’re all easily seduced by things - Jim Shannon being a really good example of that. You don’t really know where you stand with Jim. I mean he seems to know which way is up, but he could be seduced by anything. We don’t know what he’s done in the past.”
