Currently on screen starring in DRIVE (an L.A. set neo-noir crime drama getting good notices from both critics and audiences), RYAN GOSLING will next be seen in THE IDES OF MARCH, a political drama that serves as a modern day morality play. Co-written and directed by GEORGE CLOONEY (who also stars) from the play, FARRAGUT NORTH, by BEAU WILLIMON, the cast also includes PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN, MARISA TOMEI, PAUL GIAMATTI, JEFFREY WRIGHT, MAX MINGHELLA and EVAN RACHEL WOOD. As a young press rep for a campaigning presidential candidate, GOSLING conveys just the right amount of disillusion as he falls prey to backroom politics and betrayal. Combined with his strong portrayal in DRIVE, this one-two performance punch could get his name mentioned come awards season.
Contrary to recent rumors, GOSLING continues to work and has no current plan to retire. We spoke with him a few days ago and he talked about being misquoted and having remarks taken out of context. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
