Oh gosh, I hope nobody out there will ever read these comments, otherwise they’ll think the entire House fandom is stupid beyond belief. As for the show: as long as Hugh is in it, I’ll watch. End of story.

Sorry, but the comments on this site are so incredibly stupid, I wonder how anyone of you ever liked a smart show like House. I don’t get the hate in this fandom. It was sad to see Jennifer Morrison leave, and I also feel a bit sorry that one more member of the character won’t be there anymore. Though it was her choice. I wish both of them good luck for their future careers.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new season of House. Huddy ruined Cuddy for me, it never fit and it was obvious that it can’t have a happy ending. I’m looking forward to see House move on.

Nope, House without Cuddy is so far gone that I can’t find the interest to watch the show again. Can’t fathom why David Shore and his writers let House digress into such a miserable man. Who the heck wants to watch this? The Domestic Violence-left-turn-out-of-no-where in s.7’s finale did it in for me. I’d rather watch a Cuddy-spin-off show for the next 7 years. Cuddy was far more interesting as a human being and character. Much more layered and a lot easier to watch. Hugh was looking rough and not in a good way toward the end of last season.

Yes, Amy, we got it. The loss of viewership this season will incur because Lisa Edelstein “ruined the show forever”, or at least that’s what you’d be writing on the message boards from now on (using strikingly similar grammar and style, might I add). She must be a very powerful woman - of course, not as powerful as you, since apparently you have the ability to speak for millions.

I always wondered why the people who blindly “hate” Lisa E come off as self-righteous poor-educated bigots without a single intelligent thought. Might be a reason, and watching House nowadays means having something in common with Amy and the likes. Thank you, but no, not in a million years.

I have changed my original point of view regarding Lisa Edelstein’s departure. I feel that she is not a team player, left the show when she knew it would have the most impact and seems to have gotten herself other p/t employment behind the backs of those she worked with for years. I’m still waiting for her spin on this. She’s not believable and I hope they have a roaring success this season. i will most definitely be watching. Why wouldn’t I? I’ve been watching for many seasons and want to see how this pans out. Good luck to Lisa but in the end, she left people holding the bag and did so consciously. She is a very self- centered person after all. Hugh said lovely things about her. What has SHE said about him or others in the cast since SHE left? Nada.

I will probably watch the premier to see how they handle the departure of Lisa Edelstein, but I have no interest in this dark direction they have chosen to take House. They had interesting chemistry w/Cuddy & House, and they could have capitalized on it in a way to even attract non-huddies by actually using the relationship as a way to explore House and his many issues. Instead, the sabotaged themselves and made a mockery of the characters. They destroyed few redeeming qualities in their protagonist. Now they want to go back to roots and give the fans more of the procedural, but they’ve taken the character down so far that even that aspect is not exciting anymore. They really need Edelstein to redeem this character, but since they are only interested in him being a jerk and spinning his wheels never growing, they are not really interested in giving the fans what they want, so it doesn’t matter. DS should have stuck with the Rockford Files because what he thought would “fix” the show has actually destroyed it.

I was never a big fan of getting House and Cuddy together, though I enjoyed undeniable chemistry between Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein, but the way the writers handled that relationship left me agasp. It was beyond lame. If they couldn’t capitalize on something that practically landed in their lap, I have very little hope they can deal with much harder stuff, considering the state they found themselves in after disastrous finale and Lisa Edelstein’s departure. Ridiculously bad writing, crazy sensationalistic plots, sloppy execution and the main character deprived of the last shreds of humanity, since there will be no redemption without Cuddy present. Thanks, but I’ll pass. I will love Hugh Laurie even more without suffering through second-hand embarrassment.

I WILL watch [H]OUSE because I love Hugh Laurie and I believe the writer’s will do better this season. I think the writer’s messed up with HUDDY and that ruined last season. They never intended to keep House and Cuddy together, but broke them up too fast and too abruptly.
I WON’T miss Cuddy. I want more House. I want less Taub.

They’re right, losing Lisa Edelstein *is* a big loss. All of the male characters on the show, except for House himself, aren’t really interesting to me anymore. Then House was made into someone repulsive in the finale, and then they top things off by losing the beautiful, funny Lisa Edelstein? She made things more interesting to me last year, including House, because things were starting to get dull. Frankly, I’m just not excited by the new season without Cuddy being there. For me she was as much a part of House’s story as anyone on the show. And she was such a great character. And Lisa Edelstein was so great at both drama and comedy. And let’s not forget the fantastic chemistry her and Laurie had together. Now that’s gone too. I don’t know what they were thinking letting her go. So, yeah, I’ll be skipping House this season.

It’s shame that they didn’t agree to pay to Lisa Edelstein proper money but now they take to new actresses! I want them to see their ratings after that down to beneath!

I won’t be tuning in. The only way to make House’s journey even remotely credible is to have him make amends with Cuddy face to face, since she was the plague that haunted him for the last few years. Without that there is no logic in the future character development, which translates to no point in watching. I thought Hugh Laurie alone would be enough to keep me interested, apparently not. The string of excruciatingly poor decisions made by network/producers made even a die-hard fan like me cringe and move on.

The show will go on, but it will be severely hurt by her departure. They are at a handicap now, and TPTB are still playing to many games of arrogance for there to be any hope that they will come up with something brilliant to compensate from such a terrible loss.
