Actress Rachel Nichols (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Star Trek) co-stars in Conan the Barbarian as Tamara, Conan’s (Jason Momoa) partner in crime and love interest.

“I love physical roles,” says Nichols, who describes Tamara as a ‘veil wearing monk.’ “There is something about being a kick-ass chick.  I started working with a trainer when I was in Alias.  And then when Alias ended and ABC stopped paying for it, I went, ‘Oh, I like Valerie Walters (her trainer) I’m just going to just pay for her myself.’  And that was six years ago.  So I like being physical and being strong.  Great role models come from these women who just go toe to toe with these guys.  I get to be a counterpart to Conan.
