anton4 The remake of Fright Night centers on Charley Brewster (Star Trek’s Anton Yelchin), a high school senior who believes his charismatic neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire.  Toni Collette co-stars as Charley’s mother, with Kick-Ass actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse getting screen time as his best friend Ed.

“For me, Charley has a pretty relatable arc,” says Yelchin.  “From someone who loses sight of what’s important to him and then goes through an intense period of guilt and remorse and realizes that his own life is not valuable without those things that he once sort of took for granted.”

Yelchin, who’s a film buff, draws a very interesting link between Pier Paolo Pasolini’s drama The 120 Days of Sodom and Jackass. It’s probably one of the only times you’re going to see Pasolini and Johnny Knoxville’s crew placed in the same context, so check out the clip:
