A Bruce Willis movie headed straight to Blu-ray and DVD??  The times they are a-changing, but from the looks of the trailer, Set Up has the ingredients of a solid, tough guy, B-movie flick.

There’s the betrayal (Ryan Phillippe is a crook who double crosses his buddy, played by 50 Cent), and a mob boss (Willis) who hates being played for a chump.  Mix in a couple of intimidating character actors (James Remar from Dexter and The Expendables’ Randy Couture) and a film noir-esque title (anyone recall the first rate 1949 Robert Ryan feature The Set-Up?), and you have potential.

The picture hits Blu-ray and DVD on September 20th, and special features include an audio commentary from co-writer/director Mike Gunter, a featurette on the making of the movie as well as the segment “Weapons on the set of Set Up,” and interviews with the cast and crew.

Ryan Phillippe, seen this year as a privileged, misogynistic punk in The Lincoln Lawyer, explains why he loves playing the villain:

Below is the Green Band trailer to Set Up (my favorite line from the clip is Willis’ remark, “God ain’t here - God has left Detroit!”)
