One of Comic-Con’s many highlights was the Snow White and the Hunstman panel. The picture, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders, offers up a gritty and violent take on the Snow White tale. With the support of Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman) and Charlize Theron (The Queen), Kristen Stewart is leading the way as Snow White.
The image of an armor clad, battle ready Stewart reminds me of Milla Jovovich’s overlooked work in Luc Besson’s 1999 effort The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. At just 21, Stewart is already an A-list actress, and if Snow White and the Huntsman succeeds, her post-Twilight career will gain even more momentum.
Still, Stewart must learn from such mentors as Charlize Theron, and an amusing exchange between the actresses, in which our Twilight heroine is reminded of Theron’s Oscar credentials, was amusing. Click on the media bar to hear Theron humorously lay the smack down on Stewart (co-star Hemworth can also be heard talking about Sam Claflin, who plays The Prince).
