Pixar head John Lasseter is back behind the camera with Cars 2 (his last directing effort was the 2006 animated feature Cars). Lasseter, during a recent Cars 2 press conference in Hollywood, explained why he loves being a filmmaker.
“When I direct, I get in and get to work with all the artists that make the films,” said Lasseter. “And for me, that’s where I get so much inspiration from them. I lead by example. I think the culture of any organization comes from the top and I recognize that. Even within a movie - I loved this film from the beginning. I dearly loved it. And that kinda spread. And everyone started loving this film and putting their own heart and soul into this and it inspired me to do more things. I think that’s why when you look visually at this film it is so much bigger than any other Pixar film.”
