Marlee Matlin guest stars on tonight’s Switched at Birth (ABC Family, 9 pm etpt), on an episode which has Bay (Vanessa Marano) determined to find her biological father. Meanwhile, Kathryn (Lea Thompson), in an attempt to protect Bay and her biological daughter Daphne (Katie Leclerc) from getting hurt, tries to keep the family’s new revelations a secret. However, that plan just doesn’t work out for Kathryn.
“What’s great about this show is they allow us to be funny and to be dramatic at the same time,” says Thompson, who headlined the 1990s TV series Caroline In The City . “I really love Lizzy’s (show producer Lizzy Weiss) writing for that because Vanessa is an incredible actress and really funny too. It’s nice she gets to do both on this show.”
