
Saddled with horrible reviews, Green Lantern still claimed the #1 spot at the box-office, making $52.7 million. Expect a dramatic drop-off for the Ryan Reynolds headlined film for its second weekend, as the picture faces an uphill battle in turning a sizable profit for Warner Bros. Speaking of second weekends, Super 8 was #2 with $21.3 million, and the feature has collected over $72.8 million domestically. This weekend’s top 10:

2. Super 8 - $21.3 million.
3. Mr. Popper’s Penguins - The Jim Carrey family film makes $18.2 million.
4. X-Men: First Class - The X-Men reboot continues its solid run with $11.5 million ($119.9 million domestically).
5. The Hangover: Part II - The sequel didn’t receive great critical reception as the original, but this comedy is critic proof. It’s the #1 film this summer, with a $232.7 million take ($9.6 million over the weekend).
6. Kung Fu Panda 2 - $8.7 million.
7. Bridesmaids - $7.5 million.
8. Pirates of the Caribbean - It’s the number two film of the summer, as the feature has already taken in $220.3 million domestically. This weekend, it made $6.2 million.
9. Midnight In Paris - Woody Allen’s best received film in years remains at the top 10 with $5.2 million.
10. Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer - $2.2 million.
