Comedian Larry the Cable Guy is the voice of tow truck Mater in Cars 2. The film has Mater tagging along with his best buddy Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), who takes part in the first ever World Grand Prix. During their travels to Japan, Italy, France and England, Mater is mistaken for a spy, and he embarks on a dangerous mission with fellow spies Holly Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer) and Finn McMissile (Michael Caine).
“Mater is the ultimate friend,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “He’s faithful. He’s loyal. He’ll do anything that you want him to do beyond reason. He’s just a good friend.”
