Ryan Reynolds has had a ripped physique for years (just watch Blade: Trinity or The Amityville Horror), so getting in shape for Green Lantern was not the most challenging aspect of the film.
At a Los Angeles press conference earlier this week, Reynolds recalled how doing wire work for the movie was a daunting experience. “In terms of the logistics and shooting the film, I didn’t expect to have wire work like that,” said the actor. “It defies the laws of physics that a 6 foot 2 person should be doing any form of gymnastics whatsoever. But they had me doing that before production to get ready for the wire work. They would call it being ‘aerial aware’ so when you’re flipping and turning and spinning you kind of know where you’re body is at in relation to the ground.”

Green Lantern, co-starring Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard, opens June 17th.
