With the continued success of American Idol and the popularity of the freshman show The Voice, can former Idol judge Simon Cowell bring his British hit The X Factor to U.S. shores and flourish?  Reuniting with Paula Abdul should draw Idol devotees to The X Factor, which offers a $5 million Syco/Sony Music record deal as as its prize.

“What’s interesting is..is Paula’s snappy,” said Cowell.  “I had forgotten what she was like.  She doesn’t like me to disagree with her, and there were one or two disagreements.  That’s why we wanted her on the show.  I think it’s important that everybody has their own viewpoint.  But she is good at spotting talent.”
