13Hugh Jackman has been MIA at your local theater since 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But on October 7th, Jackman is back with Real Steel, playing Charlie, a has been pugilist turned low level promoter of boxing robots.  Teaming up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo), the pair build and train a robot that they believe could have a title shot.  The following trailer should appeal to the Transformers set, but one wonders if Shawn Levy, the director behind Date Night and the Night at the Museum films, is out of his element.  Levy should be applauded for taking a creative risk and thinking outside the box.  However, I like my boxing films with a little blood and grit, and with Levy at the helm and a PG-13 rating, I’m betting house money the flick is innocuous, glossy, studio entertainment.  Really, that’s not such a bad thing either.  Especially in October.
