Alison Haislip, who describes herself as a “geek,” has been part of the G4 family for over three years (Attack of the Show, America Ninja Warrior), and now she is also the online and social media correspondent on The Voice.
“What we’re trying to do with the social media aspect of The Voice is really branch the gap between the audience and the show,” added Haislip. “It’s not just like ‘hey cool let’s get us trending on Twitter.’ I’m personally there backstage and can let you know exactly what’s going on in that show. I’m live tweeting during the shows. We talk to people who do the lighting for the show, and the people who do the wardrobe for the show, not just the artists, not just the coaches. Every person who has something to do with the show, we talk to. So people who are fans of the show can really get the entire picture.”
Click on the media bar and listen to Haislip, who recently tweeted about her love of the videogame Portal 2, elaborate on why The Voice is a “legit” program (she mentions producer Mark Burnett in the clip).
