Last week’s Law & Order: LA installment featured solid performances from Jeff Fahey (Lost), Paula Malcolmson (Deadwood), and JoBeth Williams, so even sans Skeet Ulrich the show is gradually finding its niche.  The show’s continued success will partly hinge on the chemistry between Detectives Morales (Alfred Molina) and Detective Jaruszalski (Corey Stoll).

Another important character in the series is the seductive world of the City of Angels.  “I think L.A. has every chance of becoming as crucial a character in our version of the show as New York did in the original,” said Molina.  “Because so much of the show is shot on location, New York gave the show, in its earlier incarnations, a wonderful patina, a color, a sense of tone.  I think L.A. will do the same.  The lights are different. The sunshine has an effect on how things look.  The architecture is different…the fabric of the city is bound to have an impact on the way we tell the stories.  I’m looking forward to seeing how that develops.”
