Kenneth Branagh is one of the most respected actors and directors of Shakespeare in the world. When he has acted in and directed projects outside of Shakespeare, he has also appealed quite well to critics.  However, when it was announced that Branagh was directing the film version of the Marvel comic book Thor, many wondered if he was the right director to handle this film, considering that he has never directed a big blockbuster movie.
