Paul Reiser’s return to television failed to reach the heights of Mad About You, as The Paul Reiser Show was canceled by NBC after two episodes.

“In many it feels different,” said Reiser, when asked how television has changed since his Mad About You days.  “There are so many options that people are watching.  Numbers have shrunken, and there are that many more outlets and people you want to talk to and so many more people with opinions that can share instantly.  But at the bottom of it is the fact of making a show has not changed.  You still have to come up with a funny idea and you got to get great people and put it out every week.  If you put all that window dress aside, the job is still the same.”
