With Michael Scott’s (Steve Carell) days at Dunder-Mifflin drawing to a close, it’s a welcome treat to have The Dundie Awards back in The Office universe.  On tonight’s episode (NBC, 9 pm et/pt), Michael has newbie Deangelo Vickers (Will Ferrell) take over the hosting duties for the Dundies, but unfortunately he’s not exactly a great host.  Meanwhile, Erin (Ellie Kemper) is not exactly feeling too much love for her  boyfriend Gabe (Zach Woods).

“Ever since we did the first Dundies, we always talked about ‘wouldn’t that be great to do a Dundies every year,’” said cast member Rainn Wilson.  “When are we going to do the next Dundies?  It was always on the writers’ board…We wanted to do one in season three and then in season four and that just never happened for one reason or another.  And I think it’s so perfect that it’s a call back to the very beginning of the show.  It was right when the show started to get popular, right when Steve just really hit his groove. To bring it full circle with a Dundies episode is a stroke of genius, I think.”
