Something Borrowed Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays a lawyer with eyes for her self-centered friend’s (Kate Hudson) fiance (Colin Egglesfield) in the upcoming film Something Borrowed, sat down to talk about the movie, the Big Love finale, and why trusting actors in show business is a dangerous thing.

First comes HBO’s Big Love, which had its series finale last month.   Big Love was the best job I’ve ever had, and I want it to be,” said the 32-year-old actress.  “There is nothing that will ever compare to that experience.  It was all love and creativity and family.  Everybody in fact told me going in ‘You will become a family and you will fight like a family.’  We never fought like a family, we only loved like a family.  I still talk to Jeanne (Tripplehorn) and Chloe (Sevigny) just about every day.  I will miss it terribly.  It was only in reading of the last ten pages of the entire series in which they took Bill, Jeanne, me and Chloe into a room and they gave us these red pages and we were the only ones who knew what was going to happen.  Even the other actors didn’t know what they were going to be doing in the scene until they got there.  But it was only in reading the last 10 pages that I understood what our direction had been the whole time and why we had to end it because the story had to conclude in the way that it did.”

Something Borrowed also stars John Krasinski as Ethan, a confidante of Rachel’s (Goodwin) who is secretly in love with her.  Hollywood Outbreak asked the co-stars if men and women can truly be platonic friends.  “Part of becoming an adult is realizing that I don’t think we’re going to end up with significant others who keep us from temptation,” said the actress, who also starred in He’s Just Not That Into You. “So I think it’s a matter of choice every day to keep that window closed.  And I think you even do that in friendships.  It does help of course that some of my most special friendships with men started while we were dating other people, which helps.  But I do think you have to make that decision together to keep that window closed and that’s just what being part of an adult is.”

Goodwin, who said she bonded with Kate Hudson on Something Borrowed (”we put our real lives and families first,” added the actress), also divulged that she does not have too many actor friends, due to the nature of the business.  Click on the media bar and listen to her rather frank answer.
