Usually, when a play becames a movie, the actors are from Hollywood, not from Broadway. I am thinking here of Julie Andrews who lost her role as Elisa Doolittle to Audrey Hepburn, who could not sing. And what about Madonna as Evita? How come Michael Crawford was not on The Phanton of the Opera movie? So, I don't think Constantine is surprised he won't be participating. Anyway, I lost my desire to see the movie, because the movie would be my chance to see him as Drew as I never could see the play. i live abroad. Guess it’s Hollywood. Was it really that necessary to acknowledge that Adam Shankman didn't cast Constantine in the role that he created and was nominated for a Tony award? I was very excited about the Rock of Ages movie until Mr. Shankman decided that his word is the only one that counts and not the millions of fans that have seen Constantine Rock it out on the stage for the last several years. For the Rock of Ages fans there is only ONE DREW and that would be Constantine Maroulis. Shame that what could have been a box office hit will now be a box office flop.
