Cate Blanchett stars in Hanna as an undercover CIA operative on a mission to exterminate an ex-agent (Eric Bana) and his assassin daughter (Saoirse Ronan).   The picture reunites Ronan with her Atonement director Joe Wright.

“It’s actually got a strange, perverted, estranged family unit at the center of it,” said Blanchett, who starred last year with Russell Crowe in Robin Hood.  “I do play sort of a demonic mother figure in a lot of ways…fighting over a child.  There’s a Kramer vs. Kramer aspect to it!  But clearly it’s not that.  Obviously there is a road movie aspect, but the heart of the film is a coming of age story.”
