In Soul Surfer, seventeen-year-old actress AnnaSophia Robb (Race to Witch Mountain, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) plays surfer Bethany Hamilton who, at age 13, lost her left arm during a shark attack.  Robb was a complete novice at surfing, and she needed her share of help to prepare for the project, which co-stars Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt.

“I love the ocean,” said Robb, who had surf coaches as well as Hamilton aid her during the production of Soul Surfer.  “And I have a good passion for it now.  I’m not very good at it but at least I like going out there and paddling around.”
