Although surfer Bethany Hamilton lost her left arm in a shark attack back in 2003, she was determined to return and excel at surfing.  Her inspirational life is the basis for the drama Soul Surfer, which features AnnaSophia Robb as Hamilton.

“Surfing is something that is very special and unique,” said Hamilton, who is now 21.  “Just being out on the ocean, it’s really hard to explain unless you tried it.  Just the adrenaline and the feel of water on your skin and being in the sun.  Once you catch the wave you get that adrenaline and you’re just on the wave being as creative as you can. It’s like an art form, in a way.  You’re just out there having fun, and it’s something you have to really try to understand.”
