Best known for her critically acclaimed performance as John Keats’ muse Fanny Brawne in the 2009 feature Bright Star, Abbie Cornish has two pictures (Sucker Punch, Limitless) competing for box-office business this weekend.
“It’s an an interesting time for me, I’ve worked a lot the last couple of years and I feel like I’ve worked on good films with really great people and the experiences for me have been wonderful,” said Cornish who plays Sweet Pea in Sucker Punch. “I feel like I’m in a productive time in my life and I feel like I have a lot of energy, a lot of energy that wants to come out of me in various ways whether it’s music, art, as an actor, making films. So it’s so wonderful to have a platform to utilize that.”
After going through a rigorous physical and emotional experience on Sucker Punch, Cornish added that she developed a close bond with her co-stars. “We became very close,” said the actress. “All of us girls became best of friends and it was like shooting with a second family. It was really a special shoot in that way.”
