Although movie geeks are looking forward to Sucker Punch (opening Friday), all eyes are on director Zack Snyder’s next job, the ambitious reboot of the Superman franchise, Superman: Man of Steel. Co-starring relative unknown Henry Cavill, the project is being produced by Inception filmmaker Chris Nolan.
“I think the thing Henry has other than being a good looking guy..he’s a man, which I like,” said Snyder on casting Cavill for the lead role. “He also has this little teeny bit of innocence, a teeny bit of kindness to him which I feel like is important to his character. Just enough where he’s not soft, but you could imagine him being kind. I think that’s a good quality.”
Click on the media bar and listen to Snyder discuss landing the Superman: Man of Steel gig. The director also manages to get in a slight dig at a lesser known superhero, Thor, a character who resides in the Marvel Universe (Superman is a DC character). (Snyder’s producing partner and wife Deborah Snyder is also heard in the clip).

Zack Snyder is making me more and more excited for this reboot. Though I love Batman, I am anticipating this Superman reboot even more than TDKR now. It’s long due that we had a badass Superman movie. This movie can become the BIGGEST SUPERHERO MOVIE of all time because Superman is really the best of all and the most original Superhero. Zack is awesome.

Okay no matter who d cast is, it depends on our story line. Superman can not just come in ’swoosh’ as usuall and save the day. There should be lots of punching, he should be beaten(not with kryptonite), do something about his costume or costumes and pleeeeeease lex is not the only enemy superman has.

Really Zack, really? Why hate on Thor, Thor fans and throw an implied diss at KB, who can direct circles around you? You were handed two of comics greatest stories in 300 and Watchmen and the pretty pictures in both can’t cover up the fact that neither film had a glimmer of the soul the books had. I’d be less worried about the Thor movie (that is sure to give the character the pop culture cred that you obviously don’t think 50 years of comics do) and more about how fans are going to crucify you worse than Michael Bay if you ruin the Supes re-boot. Really hoping Nolan saves you from yourself. For Odin! For Asgard! For the love of God would someone please punch Zack in the face.

Voglio dire, Iron Man 4? [...]

I too am eagerly awaiting Thor and that Thor comment did seem like a slight “diss” more, I think, towards a secondary character in the Marvel Universe (that being said, I love Marvel’s second tier guys like Thor, Ghost Rider, Daredevil etc.). It is a cliche, but Watchmen is my favorite graphic novel of all time, and I was slightly disappointed with his version..I’d give it a B grade but considering it’s A material it was a bit off the mark. However, I do want to check out his Director’s Cut and give Watchmen another shot..
I actually had no huge problems with Bryan Singer’s version of Superman…I’m just wondering why there is so much dislike for a picture that was obviously a loving homage to Richard Donner’s “Superman.” Lol..but what do I know…yes..long live Thor!!! I hope that movie is solid…& KB does a great job.
