Abbie Cornish, who received rave reviews for her work as John Keats’ muse Fanny Brawne in the 2009 film Bright Star, co-stars with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in Limitless. The plot centers on a struggling writer (Cooper) whose intelligence increases by leaps and bounds thanks to a wonder drug, but his co-dependency to the drug eventually takes its toll.
“I think if you can have the ability to take a drug like that without any side effects, without any consequences, without having to face addiction and all that sort of stuff,” said Cornish, who grew up in a farm in Australia. “If you could just go on an adventure with it and feel what that is like. If you could open your mind and utilize 100% of your brain for a moment and feel that…so the the idea of taking a drug where within half an hour you could read a novel, or within two hours learn a language, or learn the piano, imagine that. I don’t know why I would ever say no to the concept of that.”
