When Jennifer Lawrence took on the role of Ree, the daughter in search of her drug dealing father, she knew it was a special part. And getting the Leading Actress Academy Award nomination only made it sweeter.


However, she learned about the pitfalls of being too good at your job while trying to audition for Jodie Foster for her new movie The Beaver. And in the video below, Lawrence explains how - despite Foster’s own ability to transform for her films - she almost shut the actress out of the running because of the seriousness of the Winter’s Bone performance.
