The thriller Unknown has an intriguing enough premise: a doctor (Liam Neeson) has survived a car accident in Berlin only to discover that his wife (January Jones) does not acknowledge him and another guy (Aidan Quinn, who worked with Neeson in Michael Collins and The Mission) has assumed his identity.  Is the doctor just insane or does his theory hold a bit of weight?  Helping him get to the truth is a woman (Inglourious Basterds’ Diane Kruger) who may hold the key to his salvation.  Directed by Orphan filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, the picture is a throwback to the first rate thrillers of yesteryear. “In a nutshell I think it’s an edge of your seat thriller with kind of an homage thrown towards Alfred Hitchcock and movies of that ilk in the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s,” says Liam Neeson, who was last seen in the summer film The A-Team.
