Zsa Zsa Gabor in 1955

Timeless ingenue Zsa Zsa Gabor lost her battle from complications over limb infection (stemming from earlier hip replacement surgery) and had to have her right leg removed.

“The surgery today went well, however, she is in frail health so we will continue to monitor her closely,” vascular surgery associate professor Dr. David Rigberg said.  “Ms. Gabor needed an amputation above her knee due to poor circulation and a large ulcerated area on her right leg.  After consulting with her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, we felt this was the best medical course of action.”

Gabor felt that she was near death five months ago (she’ll be 94 next month) and asked for a priest.

During the 1950s Gabor was considered the flawless beauty that other contending starlets were measured.  She is resting at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
