Kanye West, sometimes a tabloid’s godsend, tweeted regarding Britney Spears‘ latest single Hold It Against Me, saying “Yo Britney, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z’s single (H.A.M.) is one of the best songs of all time! LOL.”

Hold It Against Me has remained the top single on iTunes since its release Tuesday night.

Ancient head doctors once advised that if you’re angry with someone, type it all out and then tear the paper up.  West might consider a automatic delete after each of his tweets.

But to be fair to the mercurial rapper (more than other keyhole-peeping reporters), he did tweet back “On a serious note I’m truly happy for Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears. No hate in 2011…I thought LOL signified a joke.”

Or as Harold said in Boys in the Band, I suppose you’d like me to thank you for being my best friend and telling me what even my best friend wouldn’t tell me.
