With Country Strong, Tim McGraw plays the husband/manager of a troubled country music star named Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Paltrow) who embarks on a three-city comeback tour.  Joining them on the journey is Beau Hutton (Garrett Hedlund), a talented musician whom she met during her stay at rehab, and a former beauty queen turned songbird (Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester).  McGraw recently announced he’s hitting the road this spring for his “Emotional Traffic” tour, accompanied by supporting acts Luke Bryan and The Band Perry (he also is set to release a new album in support of the tour).  The wizened country star, who starts shooting the movie Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds next month, believes he is at the beginning stages of his career.  Click on the media bar and listen to the performer explain why he’s ready to turn on the “after-burners” and work harder than ever.
