Ryan Gosling had plenty to say about the original NC-17 rating for his new drama Blue Valentine.
The actor understood that the pic was given the kiss of death rating by the MPAA for an oral sex scene between the two lead characters (Gosling and Michelle Williams)…who are a married couple in the flick.
Well, a lot has happened since that original rating threat.
Pointing out that Black Swan got an R-rating, despite the same act being performed by two women, was a smart move on the part of producer Harvey Weinstein. It made an impact on the ratings board and now Blue Valentine has the R-rating it deserved all along.
Still, it’s a head-shaker for Gosling who never saw the sexual act as anything, but a loving exchange between two consenting adults.
