Dancing with the Stars pro, Chelsie Hightower is lending her name to Latisse for a good cause, the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Make-a-Wish grants the wishes of seriously ill children, who are battling for survival each day. For the dancer, it was a no-brainer to say yes to the fundraiser.
“We get to see these kids that would come onto our show – a lot of these kids it’s their wish to come to Dancing with the Stars,” Hightower acknowledges. “We would meet them and just to see the light in their eyes meeting us and seeing the backstage area and seeing us dance and what it meant to them, that’s partly why I was so passionate about this campaign and why I wanted to do it so much. It really was rewarding.”
The other reason she wanted to participate is because she actually uses the Latisse product. Her lashes take a beating during the Dancing with the Stars season, Hightower tells HollywoodOutbreak.com, and since she’s been using the Latisse, her lashes are longer and thicker.
“I was one of those who was skeptical about it,” she points out. After a month or so, Hightower saw the differences in her lashes.
“It’s amazing, it really is,” she exclaims. “I looked at the pictures from the very first day to the very last and it’s such a huge difference. On the show we’re always using fake eyelashes and that’s so hard on your eyes, but pretty necessary for a performer. By the end of the season I swear I wouldn’t have any eyelashes left. It’s been so great to have something that can help them grow back bigger than they were before really.”
Hightower is joined in the Make-a-Wish campaign by actress/model Kathy Ireland and Style Guide’d Bobbie Thomas. Hightower is hoping to get more involved with Make-a-Wish in the future.
“Giving back is so rewarding,” she says adding, “It’s a blessing.”
