Wahlberg, who is also a producer on this film, has been extremely passionate about making The Fighter.  He has been working on this film for almost a decade.  Many times, the project was ready to go into production, and was stopped for various reasons. But that didn’t stop Wahlberg from getting this film made, and finally his hard work and perseverance paid off.  Wahlberg told us that he never gave up on making this film because he knew it would make a great movie which audiences would enjoy.
