Beau Garrett & Garrrett Hedlund in Tron: Legacy (Disney Enterprises)

Actor Garrett Hedlund, who has turned in solid work in such films as Troy, Friday Night Lights, and Death Sentence, should gain an even bigger following with the upcoming films Tron: Legacy and Country Strong. However, don’t expect the twentysomething actor to check any social network sites to get feedback on his work.  “I’m not the most technologically driven person,” said Hedlund.  “I don’t do MySpace or Twitter or Facebook.  I don’t have all the new gadgets that are out there. That just doesn’t fill any hole that I’m trying to make whole.”  The actor also adds that he’s not a big videogame fanatic (which probably means he won’t be playing the new release Tron: Evolution), and actually prefers playing chess and backgammon during his free time.  “I like backgammon a lot,” said Hedlund, who plays a country singer in Country Strong.  “Probably a lot more than chess.”  Tron: Legacy opens December 17th, with Country Strong, which co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, opens in Los Angeles and Nashville on December 22nd (wider release January 7th).
