118 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 ruled the Thanksgiving box office on Thursday taking in $11,510,000. The film has grossed $170,007,000 domestically so far, making this the most profitable Potter movie yet.

The animated Walt Disney movie Tangled came in at #2 earning $8,100,000. Tangled is the 50th animated feature from Walt Disney, and has received mostly positive reviews. By the end of the holiday weekend, experts project that Tangled will gross an estimated $69,000,000.  This time last year, Walt Disney released The Princess and the Frog, and Tangled has already out performed that film.

The Denzel Washington action movie Unstoppable was #3 earning $2,525,000. This is not bad, considering the film is in its third week of release and is still at the top of the box office.

Rounding out the top five, were the musical/dance movie Burlesque, starring Cher and pop star Christina Aguilera at #4 making $2,500,000, and the family movie animated movie Megamind, came in at #5 earning $2,058,000.

We note that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s action flick, Faster, appears to be the box office dud of the Holiday weekend, taking in only $1,910,000.  Perhaps as the weekend continues, the film will pick up some momentum considering Dwayne Johnson’s films usually perform well.
