The Fighter, which opens in limited release December 10th (wider December 17th), reunites Mark Wahlberg and director David O. Russell (I Heart Huckabees, Three Kings), and centers on the trials and tribulations of Micky Ward, who is considered one of the boxing world’s most determined and gutsiest pugilists.  The movie will get its share of Oscar nods, and it caps a very productive year for Wahlberg, a producer of two popular HBO programs (Entourage and the freshman series Boardwalk Empire) and star of the summer hit The Other Guys.  Wahlberg, however, has starred in a few sub par projects, and although most stars don’t like to name names, the actor is a straight shooter.  During last weekend’s press conference for The Fighter, Wahlberg gave journalists the history of his working relationship with co-star Amy Adams (she plays Micky’s girlfriend Charlene), which started off during a meeting for the film The Happening.  Click on the media bar and listen to Wahlberg talk about Adams and give his honest thoughts about the M. Night Shyamalan picture.  It’s a pretty funny clip, so check it out:
